We were extremely privileged to attend a healing ceremony on the weekend conducted by the Adnyamathanya traditional owners at Moonarie to honour Michael and Simon and heal the land. I don’t really have the words to describe it but what was clear was their overwhelming connection to the land and heartfelt sorrow for the fallen climbers. Vince and Terrence led a beautiful ceremony and provided a lot of insights into their cultural beliefs and connections to the land and Australian people. It was a true privilege. I would also encourage anyone travelling up to the Ikara-Flinders Ranges / Moonarie to attend the Welcome to Country address that occurs nightly @6pm at Wilpena.
